Meda, thank you for sharing your experience with us. We appreciate your kind word

"My father bought a car at Toyota Sunnyvale,, and he's keep saying he had best experiences ever, and he told me to put this for his salesrep.. he bought a sienna a few days ago from Anthony (salesman), and he keeps telling me he was the best ever.

he was calm, respectful, gentle, and had great product knowledge. Price was great as well, and he still had awesome service even after we purchased the car.. If possible we would like to give 500 stars for him. my father paid-off more than 15 cars during his life, and he says this salesman was the best ever..

dealership was bigger than I thought.. and their inventory was great enough.. and most of employees were very gentle to everyone.. it was fist time visiting Toyota Sunnyvale, but definitely, my family will buy from this dealership again.

lastly? Thank you Anthony. I appreciate to your high quality of service you provided to us."

"Thank you Brad Eazarsky, just had to yelp (never yelped before) he just did a great job. I recommend seeing Brad Eazarsky to any one that wants to buy a Toyota . He finds the vehicle for you, calls you when it arrives ,(so no one else will get it) then gets you in and out of there FAST. Which totally pleased my husband. Thanks for all your help which saved us our time!"

MotoX, thank you for this wonderful review

"I see a lot of "Love or Hate" experiences here... That makes me realize that a dealership experience just gets as good as the person you are dealing with...

Yes, dealerships can be a little more expensive for car maintenance than other places, but I go anyway. I've had my oil changed, 30k maintenance done, and both times they were fairly quick and treated me professionally (i.e. NOT treating me like I don't know the difference between the hood and the trunk.) My service advisor walked me through my different options for services (Minimum Recommended / Dealer Suggested / Value Package services), and she gave me her recommendation. I felt no pressure to spend more money than I had to.

The waiting area is small and can get a little loud but they are pretty fast so you don't really wait that long, they offered to take me home if I didn't want to wait.

Perk of getting anything done here for service is that I got a car wash too! =)

I commend you for having such an amazing staff here. The service department people are very friendly and nice. Thanks Toyota Sunnyvale for a very positive service experience!! I will be back. They won me over!!!"

Dave, thanks for sharing your experience with us.

"I bought a used Matrix and wanted to make sure it was as good as it looked, so I took it to Toyota Sunnyvale's service department. They did an inspection of the car in more detail than I could have including putting it on the lift to check the brakes and under the car. They found and fixed one minor issue. The best thing was that they charged just a small amount. Also the car is running great. The people there are all very nice and professional. I'll be back."

Toyota Announces Second Annual Shareathon Program

Toyota_logo_3
Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc. launched the second annual Shareathon program, where customers can tweet about their plans to buy or a lease a new Toyota during Toyotathon and earn a $500 prepaid debit card. Building on the success of last year’s program, the 2011 Shareathon has announced an additional reward program for those who rally their followers to retweet the original message. Each retweet increases the debit card amount by $50, up to a maximum of $500 from these retweets, for a total of $1,000.

From Dec. 12 through Dec. 21, shoppers who register online at www.toyota.com/shareathon, tweet a scripted Shareathon message, and then purchase or lease a new Toyota vehicle on or before Jan. 3, 2012 will be eligible for a certificate and unique coupon code redeemable for a $500 prepaid debit card. Participants will then have 48 hours to encourage their followers to retweet the initial message. As an added bonus, those followers who retweet the message will be entered to win a 2011 Prius from Toyota.

“This year Shareathon not only rewards shoppers for tweeting about their plans for a new Toyota, but is also a fun and unique way for us to engage their friends and followers,” said Kimberley Gardiner, national digital marketing and social media manager for Toyota. “Last year’s Shareathon was such a huge success that we decided to add an incremental element to expand the social footprint and impact of the program.”

Beginning at 11:00 a.m. EST on each day of the program, certificates will be available to the first 140 people who register on the site and tweet about their plans to get a new Toyota during Toyotathon. After the new vehicle is purchased, each participant will need his or her unique coupon code and VIN to receive the prepaid debit card. Participants must submit for redemption no later than Jan. 31, 2012.

In addition to enabling users to register for the program, the Shareathon site will also generate interactive visualizations tracking the original tweets and their subsequent retweets. Users can see the journey of their tweets—as well as the tweets of others—mapped out in circular graphs in which each point represents a retweet, with color-coding to distinguish original retweets from second- and third-generation retweets.

The Shareathon promotion is separate from any existing incentive programs that may currently be in place. For official rules and to learn more, visit www.toyota.com/shareathon or .

Diane, thank you for sharing your experience with us

"I love this Toyota dealership. I love My Rav.
I went in last week and was helped by the older looking "Joe Montana" looking guy in the front...forgot name.
My check engine light was on, I needed tires and my car needed servicing.
I got back my Rav got the new tires, check engine is off and Im on the road again!
He had my car washed when I got back.
I have had to wait a few times in the past for service, because they were busy but the guy got with me just as he was done and he apologized for the wait. He was actually heading to lunch but did not go he said so he could service my car.
I appreciate this 5-star customer service."

Toyota Motor Sales Announces 2012 Prices for Corolla and Matrix Compact Sedans, Tundra Regular Cab Pickup Truck and Venza Crossover

Toyota_logo_photo

Toyota Motor Sales (TMS), USA, Inc., announced manufacturer’s suggested retail prices (MSRP) today for the 2012 Corolla and Matrix compact sedans, Tundra Regular Cab full-size pickup truck and the Venza crossover. TMS also announced increases today for select 2012 Toyota and Lexus models. Price increases for 2012 Toyota models include the FJ Cruiser SUV, Highlander and Highlander Hybrid SUVs, and Tundra Double Cab and CrewMax models. Price increases for 2012 Lexus models include LS 460 and LS 600h L models and CT 200h.

The Venza crossover is manufactured at Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Kentucky, Inc., in Georgetown, Ky.

2012 Toyota Venza
The Toyota Venza, which melds sport-sedan design with crossover versatility, debuts a new three-model grade strategy for 2012. Previously, the Venza had been available without grades, instead offering multiple option packages.

The 2012 Venza is available in LE, XLE and Limited grades, a model line change that aligns the Venza with other Toyota passenger vehicles, making it more convenient for customers. The LE and XLE models are available with all powertrain combinations: four-cylinder, V6, front-wheel drive (FWD) or all-wheel drive (AWD); the Venza Limited comes with the V6 engine only, in front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive configurations.

The LE comes well equipped with standard dual-zone automatic climate control with air filter and second row seat vents; eight-way power-adjustable driver’s seat; 3.5- inch multi-information display; a tilt/telescopic adjustable steering wheel with integrated audio controls; an overhead console with map lights; rear-seat adjustable personal reading lamps and three 12-volt power outlets.

The LE grade’s standard audio system includes an AM/FM six-disc, in-dash CD changer with integrated satellite radio, Bluetooth® hands-free phone capability with wireless music streaming via Bluetooth® , MP3/WMA playback capability, USB port with iPod connectivity, auxiliary audio jack, auto sound leveling, and six speakers.

The Venza XLE provides a major luxury and convenience upgrade to the vehicle and includes such features as leather seating surfaces, steering wheel and shift knob; four-way power passenger seat; multi-stage heated front seats; satin mahogany wood- grain-style interior trim; anti-theft system with alarm and engine immobilizer; Smart Key System with pushbutton start and illuminated entry; power rear liftgate and a back-up camera. Also standard on the XLE is a multi-information display that can be customized to adjust the font size and content, and navigation voice instructions available in Spanish, French or English (XM Traffic is only available in English).

The new V6-only, top-of-line Venza Limited adds a JBL Navigation system, panoramic glass roof with front power moonroof, and high-intensity discharge (HID) headlights with automatic high beams. The high beam feature detects oncoming vehicles and automatically switches the headlamps from high- to low-beam.

Venza LE models will range in price from $27,425 for the four-cylinder front- wheel-drive to $29,775 for the V6 all-wheel-drive, an increase of $240 on a comparably- equipped basis, or 0.8 percent.

The 2012 Venza XLE reflects an excellent value as MSRP’s range from $29,775 for the four-cylinder front-wheel-drive to $33,050 for the V6 all-wheel-drive, a decrease in price of $880 on a comparably-equipped basis, or 2.6 to 2.9 percent.
The Venza Limited also represents a great value as the base MSRP is $36,465 for the V6 front-wheel-drive and $37,915 for the V6 all-wheel-drive, a price decrease of $460 on a comparably-equipped basis, or 1.2 percent.

The prices for the 2012 Venza take effect with the start of production on December 5, 2011.

2012 Toyota Matrix
The versatile and sporty Toyota Matrix, carries over unchanged for 2012, continuing with two model grades and two powertrain offerings and available all-wheel drive. Like all Toyota’s the Matrix includes the Toyota Care complimentary maintenance plan, which covers the car for two years or 25,000 miles, whichever comes first.

The five-door Toyota Matrix deftly combines a fun-to-drive spirit with the utility of a small SUV and excellent fuel economy. The 2012 Matrix continues to feature the standard Toyota Star Safety SystemTM, which includes Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), Traction Control (TRAC), an Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) and Brake Assist. It also includes a Smart Stop Technology brake- override system.

The 2012 Matrix is available in two grades: base Matrix and the sporty S grade. Powertrain choices include 1.8-liter and 2.4-liter four-cylinder engines, a five-speed manual transmission, and either four- or five-speed automatic transmissions. The all- wheel-drive (AWD) Matrix S is equipped with the 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine and the ECT four-speed automatic transmission.

Matrix remains an excellent value as its pricing carries over unchanged from 2011. The base MSRP will continue to range from $18,845 for the L grade with a five- speed manual transmission to $21,715 for the S grade with all-wheel-drive and a four- speed automatic.

The prices for the 2012 Matrix go into effect with the start of production on December 5, 2011.

The prices for the 2012 Tundra Regular Cab take effect with the start of production on December 19, 2011.

2012 Toyota Price Adjustments
The price increases on Toyota models range from $125 for the FJ Cruiser to $400 for the Highlander Hybrid. The model-by-model adjustments reflect individual percentage increases ranging from 0.40 to 1.1 percent. A complete list of model-by- model price adjustments is attached below.

Richard, thank you so much for sharing your experience with us

"I can't complain. I bought my first car here (new 2008 Prius) and came back 4 years later to trade it in for a new 2012 Prius v. My sale associate, Larry Leibowitz, was friendly, fair and accommodating -- he worked with me on some logistics (caused by me being out of town). As for a car salesman, he was not overly pushy. The price was good to average (compared to what I could find locally and on the internet), especially considering the rarity/demand of my particular model/package. The new car sales was overall relatively efficient and painless!

On a side note, I've also taken my old Prius here religiously for service ever since I bought it. While I won't say they are particularly friendly/unfriendly, they've always got the work done promptly at a good to average price. I've never been surprised by unwanted charges. Having put over 85,000 miles on that car in 4 years, the car ran as smooth as the day I bought it -- I think that says much about the quality of service."

"Sales dept review: I bought a used ('08, 48k miles) non-Toyota vehicle here and eventually returned it due to what I perceived as a beginning transmission problem. The review is not for the vehicle, but the service I received:

Communication via phone and e-mail to schedule appointments was friendly and timely.
An assistant took me to test-drive not only "my vehicle," but several vehicles of similar model so I could compare them to the one I wanted. I had my friend who owns same vehicle test-drive the car as well.
They provided me with any and all details about the car that I felt they knew, including a certified (non-Toyota) dealer inspection report.
When I decided to return the car, they cut me a check within a few days.
A pleasant experience as far as dealerships go. One star off for letting me wait there and then and for not being able to work on the price much.

Bottom line - you still need to know about cars in order to pick the right one, but these people are quite helpful in getting you access to the information you need."

Toyota Sunnyvale is dedicated to providing the best in customer service

We would like to thank our happy customer for this great review

"I had a wonderful experience at Toyota Sunnyvale.

I did my research and used Costco pricing when I purchased my Prius II. My sales associate, Brad E., exceeded the deal I was offered at another dealership, plus he was very pleasant to work with and never pressured me.

when I took delivery on the car I got full instructions from Brad on its many features, never feeling rushed or hurried. Likewise, both Brad and Reisa stayed beyond closing to help me complete paperwork. I don't know that I could have been as patient as they were, had the situation been reversed.

I would not hesitate to recommend Toyota Sunnyvale to anyone looking for a new Toyota.

I have to say, the 2011 Prius II I purchased from this dealership is a great car and rides like a dream."

James, thanks so much for this great review. We truly appreciate your five-star rating

"I was in the market for a brand new Toyota Prius for quite a while now. I browse through the web looking at the best deal on Priuses when I stumbled upon Toyota Sunnyvale. Reisa at direct sales changed the way I think about car buying! I requested a quote on a 2011 Toyota Prius II online and Immediately got a call from her with a quote and scheduled me an appointment the next day. Needlessly to say, I put in a brand new Prius the next day.

From start to finish I only had to deal with Reisa, from test driving the car to signing paperwork. It was so fast and painless that I was out of the dealership within 3 hours. No haggling, no hassles!

As for the dealership; It was small, but it is well stocked on Toyota Priuses. I was told that this dealership is the #1 in the bay area when it comes to selling Toyota Priuses and would get priority from Toyota in receiving more Priuses from them. This particular dealership also has a separate lot for just Toyota Priuses, and had over 130 Priuses for me to choose from!"

Toyota Camry, the best-selling car in America for nine consecutive years and 13 of the past 14 years, took the honor of Best Resale Value in the mid-size car segment. Toyota Corolla Adds New Audio and Amenities for 2012

H8e4806
The Toyota Corolla, which received refreshed styling and numerous enhancements for 2011, enters the 2012 model year with upgrades to the feature content for the base L model and a new standard audio system for the LE and S grade models.

A standard bearer for value, quality and dependability for more than 40 years, the Toyota Corolla delivers even more value for 2012. The Corolla L grade model gains color-keyed power side mirrors, along with power windows with driver’s auto-down, power door locks and remote keyless entry. The LE grade adds standard 16-inch wheels and steering wheel audio controls for 2012. The sporty S model adds a double-stitch accent to its seats.

In response to customers’ demand for more versatile audio performance, the 2012 Toyota LE and S grades offer a new standard audio system. The head unit combines an AM/FM/CD player (including MP3/WMA playback) A USB port enables iPod® connectivity, while an auxiliary input jack accommodates other music players. The system also features Bluetooth® hands-free phone capability and audio streaming. Auto-sound leveling adjusts volume in response to ambient noise. Both the LE and S grades feature steering wheel audio control switches, as well.

The 2012 Corolla continues to offer standard Toyota’s Star Safety System™, which includes Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), Traction Control (TRAC), Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) and Brake Assist. It also features the standard Smart Stop Technology brake-override system. The 2012 Corolla continues to offer the two-year/25,000-mile Toyota Care complimentary maintenance plan.

Performance and Efficiency
The 2012 Corolla is available in three grades: the base-model Corolla L, the LE, and sporty S grade. All models are equipped with the 1.8-liter DOHC four-cylinder engine, which produces 132 hp at 6,000 rpm and 128 lb-ft of torque at 4,400 rpm. Dual Variable Valve Timing with intelligence (VVT-i) controls valve timing on both the intake and exhaust camshafts to help optimize performance and fuel economy.

The 1.8-liter engine is paired with a five-speed manual transmission or a four-speed automatic Electronically Controlled Transmission (ECT) on the base Corolla L and the sporty S grades; the LE model features the automatic standard. The four-speed automatic uses a torque converter with flex lockup for increased fuel efficiency, as well as uphill/downhill shift control. For a more engaging driving experience, the driver can shift the automatic manually by moving the shift lever to the left from its “D” position into the “S” position, then pushing forward for upshifts and back for downshifts. An indicator inside the combination gauge shows the gear selected.

The 2012 Corolla has earned an EPA-estimated fuel economy rating of 27 mpg city and 34 mpg highway with the five-speed manual transmission, and 26 mpg city and 34 mpg highway with the four-speed automatic transmission.

Handling and Ride
The smooth-riding Corolla is built around a stiff body structure that relies on high tensile-strength steel, gussets and cross members for its strength, rigidity and lightweight construction. Front suspension is composed of a compact, rigid L-arm-type MacPherson strut with a stabilizer bar. The Corolla’s torsion beam rear suspension employs a coil-over-shock arrangement that allows efficient packaging along with solid handling and excellent ride comfort.

An electric power-assist steering system uses a compact motor, speed reducer and torque sensor built into the steering column. The system varies the amount of assistance according to engine RPM and vehicle speed. The result is appropriate weight and responsiveness at higher speeds, and light effort at low speeds. Electric power steering reduces parasitic losses to the engine, thereby aiding fuel economy. It is also environmentally efficient, because it does not require hydraulic oil.

Safety
The Corolla is engineered to absorb and disperse impact energy throughout the entire body structure, including front and rear crumple zones. Strengthened door beltline reinforcements help share the impact load, which in side impacts is also directed to the underbody. A direct tire pressure monitor system comes standard on every Corolla.

As part of the Toyota STAR Safety System™, Vehicle Stability Control automatically adjusts engine output and the vehicle’s braking force at individual wheels to help control any discrepancy between where the driver is steering and where the vehicle is heading.

All Corolla models are equipped with six standard airbags, including advanced front airbags, front seat-mounted side airbags, and front-and-rear side-curtain airbags. Seatbelt pretensioners retract the seat belt at the time of a frontal collision, and the dual-stage force limiter helps limit the seat belt force applied to the passenger’s chest. Front seats integrate active headrests; if the vehicle is struck from the rear with sufficient force, a cable-actuated mechanism in the active front headrest moves the headrest upward and forward to help limit the movement of the occupant's head.

Comfort and Convenience
The 2012 Corolla upholds a 40-plus year heritage for providing outstanding value in standard equipment. All models feature a standard all-weather package. The Corolla L grade features 15-inch steel wheels with full wheel covers; P195/65 R15 tires; a color-keyed front grille and exterior door handles; a heavy-duty rear window defogger with timer; AM/FM/CD audio with four speakers with MP3/WMA playback capability, auxiliary audio jack, and auto sound leveling; air conditioning with pollen filter; intermittent windshield wipers; daytime running lights; tilt and telescopic steering wheel; multi-information display with outside temperature, instant fuel economy, average fuel economy, average speed and travel distance; fabric-trimmed six-way adjustable drivers seat; four-way adjustable front passenger seat; 60/40 split folding rear seats and a 12-volt auxiliary power outlet. For 2012, power windows, door locks, remote keyless entry system, and color-keyed side view mirrors are also added to the roster.

In addition to the new audio system and 16-inch wheels described described earlier, the popular Corolla LE grade adds variable intermittent windshield wipers with mist cycle; color-keyed power heated outside mirrors; cruise control; multi-function in-key remote keyless entry system with lock, unlock, trunk release, panic and remote illuminated entry and a sport steering wheel with metallic accents.

The sporty Corolla S grade projects a street-smart look with 16-inch alloy wheels and 205/55 R16 tires; multi-reflector halogen headlamps with black housing; color-keyed front and rear underbody spoilers, sport side rocker panels, unique S badge and rear mudguards; color-keyed rear spoiler and integrated fog lamps. The interior, too, gets an exclusive upgrade with front sport seats, chrome-tipped exhaust, metallic style interior trim and analog sport instrumentation.

Options
The Corolla LE offers a Premium Package that includes 16-inch, five-spoke alloy wheels with P205/55R16 tires; integrated fog lamps and a power tilt/slide moonroof with sliding sunshade. The Corolla S also offers the power tilt/slide moonroof. Both grades also offer Display Audio with Navigation and Entune™ multi-media system which includes a 6.1-in. touch screen, AM/FM CD player with MP3/WMA playback capability, six speakers, SiriusXM™ Satellite Radio capability that includes 90-day trial subscription, HD Radio™ with iTunes® Tagging, auxiliary audio jack, USB port with iPod® connectivity and control, vehicle information, hands-free phone capability, phonebook access, advanced voice recognition, text to voice, and music streaming via Bluetooth® wireless technology (see toyota.com/entune for availability of apps and data services)

Exterior Design
The Corolla’s design, created with input from styling studios in Turin, Italy, strikes a sporty profile. Built on a 102.4-inch wheelbase, the Corolla provides room for five, with a 12.3 cu. ft. trunk.

Character lines sweep from the hood toward the A-pillars and carry back from the top edge of the front bumper into the subtle yet muscular front-fender flares. Additional lines carry rearward at the level of the door handles, emphasizing the Corolla’s low profile, and sweep down from the C-pillar and along the top edges of the rear fenders.

Just above the dense mesh grille that helps form the now familiar Toyota T-face, an interlayer of anti-chipping coating is used to help minimize paint damage from stone chips. The standard body kit on S the model adds a sporty look while also enhancing aerodynamics. The kit includes a front spoiler, rocker moldings, and upper and lower rear spoilers. Engine under-covers improve air management on all models.

The current-generation Corolla benefitted from a focus on reducing wind noise. The A-pillar is specially profiled for this purpose. The windshield is made from acoustic glass and the window-frame structure is designed to reduce vibration of side glass. The windshield molding, wiper blade covers and shape of the cowl air intake louvers are all designed to minimize noise. Windshield washer nozzles are partially shielded by the rear edge of the hood, instead of sitting atop the hood or cowling. Inside, the carpeting is designed to better absorb noise.

Interior Design
The Corolla’s driving position and front seats are tailored to a wider range of driver heights. A standard tilt and telescope steering wheel in all models makes it easy for taller drivers to find a comfortable position. A multi-information display presents a variety of information, including outside temperature, instant fuel economy, average fuel economy, average speed and travel distance.

The Corolla’s rear bench seat offers space and comfort for three adults. Careful attention to exhaust system routing provides a nearly flat rear floor, enhancing comfort for the middle passenger. Three interior color schemes are available: Ash, Dark Charcoal and Bisque. The Bisque is paired with Ash Brown trim.

Easy-to-reach storage spaces provide convenience and usability inside the Corolla. These include center console side pockets; a storage box above the usual glove box; front and rear door pockets that can safely hold 20-ounce bottles; a console box with a large-capacity main tray and a smaller accessory tray; an overhead console useful for storage of sunglasses or garage-door openers; and front and rear-door storage pockets with sculpted bottle holders.

Limited Warranty
Toyota’s 36-month/36,000 mile basic new-vehicle warranty applies to all components other than normal wear and maintenance items. Additional 60-month warranties cover the powertrain for 60,000 miles and corrosion with no mileage limitation.

"Buying a New 2011 Prius.

So, I was interested in buying a new 2011 Prius. Being from MN, I was prepared to fly down to San Jose and pick up the Prius. David Garske contacted me and offered to pick me up from the Airport, settle me down at a local hotel for the night and complete the transaction the next day.

As it turned out, I wasn't able to make it to San Jose due to a conflict but was extremely pleased with the assistance offered, I highly recommend this dealership for all out of state buyers so they can take advantage of the low pricing."

Toyota Honored By National Minority Supplier Development Council

Toyota_logo_photo
Toyota has been named the Corporation of the Year by the National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC) for its continued commitment to minority suppliers and diverse communities. The award – which was presented during the NMSDC Annual Conference in Atlanta, Ga. – recognizes the company’s leadership around supplier diversity that impacts all areas of its business operations.

“Toyota is honored to receive this award from NMSDC for our efforts to support minority business inclusion and to partner with the organization for more than 20 years,” said Shigeki Terashi, president and COO of Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing North America, Inc. “Our company’s foundation – The Toyota Way – is built on continuous improvement and respect for people and this award reinforces our desire to find ways to strengthen and improve our processes, especially through supplier diversity.”

This is the second time Toyota was awarded this honor, selected by a NMSDC national committee comprised of minority business owners, for its commitment to maintaining a supplier base which reflects the diversity of its customers and the diversity of the team members who build and sell Toyota vehicles in North America.

“This recognition is reserved for corporations that fully embrace the value that minority suppliers bring to the corporate supply chain,” said NMSDC President Joset Wright. “Toyota’s commitment to supplier diversity and minority supplier development is firmly embedded in the corporate culture. Its comprehensive, world-class supplier diversity process is worthy of replication.”

Despite economic fluctuations in the automotive industry, Toyota has maintained its MBE supplier base, as well as a $1 billion commitment to partnering with minority-owned businesses.Throughits operations, workforce and supply base, the company is dedicated to reflecting the many different cultures, backgrounds and outlooks of its customers and the communities in which they do business.

“I take great pride in my more than 10 years business partnership with Toyota,” said Berto Guerra, chairman and CEO of Avanzar Interior Technologies. “Toyota has provided my company the support and opportunity to help ensure the growth vitality of my business and the community of San Antonio.”

Over the past several years, Toyota has been recognized as a leader in diversity and inclusion through various awards from Black Enterprise, DiversityInc, the Human Rights Campaign and Hispanic Business. Toyota was the co-winner of the Corporation of the Year award from the National Minority Supplier Development Council in 2004.

Toyota Prius Plug-in earns 2012 Urban Green Vehicle Award

2012-toyota-prius-plug-in-1
The 2012 Toyota Prius Plug-in, which will go on sale in Spring of 2012, earned Decisive magazine’s annual Urban Green Vehicle of the Year Award today. The three Urban Vehicles of the Year award winners and finalists were announced after being selected by an independent panel of automotive journalists, who reviewed several dozen cars and trucks in various North American urban settings. Decisive magazine’s Urban Vehicles of the Year, which were selected on the basis of style, practicality and attainability, will be featured in the magazine’s winter issue and on mobile applications.

“We are pleased with the recognition of the 2012 Toyota Prius Plug-in as a well-designed, smart and attainable vehicle, especially in an urban environment,” said Jim Colon, vice president of Toyota product communications at Toyota Motor Sales, USA, Inc. “We’re confident that the Prius Plug-in’s extended electric range, selectable EV mode, expected 87 MPGe and quick home charging are among the features that helped Toyota secure this distinction.”

Toyota Prius Plug-in will be among the winners and finalists to be honored at the 16th Annual Urban Wheel Awards, hosted by the Emerging Diversity Education Fun (EDEF) and Decisive Media, on Sunday, January 8, 2012, in Detroit.

“This is the Prius everyone has been waiting for,” said Lyndon Conrad Bell, editor-in-chief of Decisive magazine. “Endowing the world’s favorite hybrid with the ability to run purely on electric power for significant distances and recharge itself from an AC outlet remade and exceptional urban green car into the ideal urban green car.”

Joining the popular third-generation Prius Liftback and the new Prius v, the new Prius Plug-in combines the benefits of the standard Prius model’s hybrid vehicle operation with extended electric vehicle (EV) driving and more affordable pricing than pure electric or range-extender type vehicles. The 2012 Prius Plug-in Hybrid, which offers seating for five, is expected to achieve a manufacturer-estimated 87 MPGe (miles per gallon equivalent) in combined driving and 49 MPG in hybrid mode.

Toyota has sold more than one million Prius models in the United States since the first-generation model was introduced for model-year 2001. The recent introduction of the larger Prius v and now the Prius Plug-in Hybrid brings this eco-focused model range to four distinct vehicles, including the Prius c, which will debut in 2012.

Holly, thank you for this wonderful review

"Okay, none of us like buying a car because it involves talking to car salesmen. But I have to say I had a great experience at Sunnyvale Toyota! I went in over the weekend to check out the used car selection and took a test drive in a few cars. Not finding the car for me, I took the salesman's business card and left. The salesman, Ken Costa, e-mailed me daily with the new additions to the used car inventory and a few nights later, I went in and found my new car! Once I found the car, everyone made the purchasing process so easy. I got a great trade-in amount on my old car, a killer interest rate, and drove away in just a few hours. A truly painless car buying experience!"

Barbie, thank you for this great review

"I purchased my Yaris four years ago and the service I have received from day one has been superb. Although I purchased one of the lowest priced autos they sell, I am always treated like a VIP. I have never had a single problem with the car, but I drive all the way to this place for my lube and oil changes because I trust their service. If I bring a coupon from another Toyota dealer, they honor it. I always receive a phone call a couple of days after service to see if I am satisfied. They even call me on my birthday. Service advisors are professional and courteous, not condescending like at some other repair places."

Toyota ‘still world’s top-rated car brand’

Toyota_logo_photo

Toyota has maintained its position as the world’s top-rated car manufacturer, according to the new global brand value report from Interbrand.

The company has been placed 11th overall in the list, just failing to pip Hewlett Packard to 10th spot. At the top of the table is Coca Cola, followed by IBM, Microsoft, Google and General Electric.

McDonald’s placed sixth, computer component experts Intel were seventh, Apple scored eighth and Disney were one place behind in ninth.

Interbrand calculates its rankings on analysis of three key aspects that contribute to overall brand value: the financial performance of branded products and services; the role of the brand in purchase decisions; and the strength of the brand in securing earnings for a company.

Toyota’s success has been recorded in difficult global economic conditions. Interbrand noted that those businesses which, like Toyota, had improved their performance in the report, showed their ability and brand strength in ‘adapting to a new reality’ in an uncertain business climate.

Fred, we would like to thank you for providing outstanding customer service

"I never thought I would ever be writing a review(and a 5 star one!) for a car dealership as my mind had always been set on buying from private party, however I'm pleased to record here my experience with Toyota Sunnyvale.

Fred Moini was the wonderful gentleman and salesperson I worked with. I was looking for a reliable car to last me another 3 three years and therefore I was looking for a moderately priced used car. I visited the place 4 times and each time, Fred patiently sat with me, explored the inventory at Toyota Sunnyvale and Toyota Marin(which is their sister dealership), also went around the lot with me to look at newly arrived cars that had not yet been listed on the website. I was quite picky about choosing but Fred was very patient and let me go around looking at a number of cars each time, gave me the keys to test-drive any car I wanted to. I visited with family and friends a couple of times and he was very courteous and understanding of their preferences. He also had Toyota Marin bring me two of their cars from San Rafael to test drive.

Happily, I was able to find a nice one-owner Chevy in pristine condition at a great no haggle price. All in all, a pleasant experience, I'd strongly recommend asking for Fred Moini should you decide to purchase from Toyota Sunnyvale."

Raymond, thank you for this great review. We are honored to have you as a customer.

"Excellent Dealership. I visited over ten dealerships for my new mini-van and picked Toyota Sunnyvale to close the deal (Toyota Sienna). I have to say that going to Toyota Sunnyvale was the right choice. They are sincere, courteous, and doesn't hard sell or pull strings. All pricing and vehicle information were given up front with no catches down the line, and I am still very happy about my decision. Their pricing is extremely competitive, and so far they've been honoring their words and promises about maintenance and customer services. I'll totally recommend Toyota Sunnyvale to anyone I know"
"Best dealership. I have visited about four dealerships around the Bay Area to buy new Corolla 2011 and had received excellent service at this place. I got into the dealership at around 9:00PM and stepped out at 11:00PM with all the paper work done. Eric was my Sales person and we were provided with a great service even though it was a very odd time. Also the negotiation went very smooth and I am sure I got the best deal. The service center is also pretty good. I would definitely recommend this place"
"Great Service, Excellent Dealership, made customer very happy and satisfied. I like to give them 10+ for service rating."

Toyota Ten Air Bags Save Lives

Toyota_logo_photo
Exactly one week ago Kim Smith purchased a 2012 Toyota Camry from Capital Toyota in Chattanooga and was told when she bought the shiny red car that it was the first generation of the most popular car in America to be equipped with 10 different airbags as standard equipment. Hours later, as she then drove her new car home, Kim was stopped at an intersection when she found out how tremendously important that is.

With just 54 miles on her Toyota’s odometer, the 36-year-old Electric Power Board employee watched in complete horror as a Chevrolet Trailblazer – completely airborne - was being hurled directly at the front of her brand-new car with unbelievable force.

“There are no words to describe it,” she said yesterday, “but there is no doubt the car saved my life.

”Another driver was approaching a busy intersection on Sand Mountain early last Wednesday night and apparently fell asleep, running through the stop sign at Highway 301, just up the mountain from Trenton, Ga. When his van plummeted through the intersection, he hit the 3,000-pound Chevrolet SUV broadside and the force of the impact literally launched the second car high into the air.

“Oh, gosh, I was shocked! I was completely stopped, wearing my seat belt,” Kim said. “I heard the first wreck but then the second car came right at me through the air, landing right on the front of the Camry’s hood. It was like a big explosion.

”The instant Kim’s car was struck, all 10 airbags deployed – those located at knee level keeping her legs from being crushed – and, when she finally opened her front door, she got out of her badly-mangled but still brand-new Toyota without so much as a scratch.

This isn’t an advertisement for the newest generation of Camry that Toyota has just unveiled but Lord knows it should be. In a day when too many of us take air bags and safety features for granted, Kim Smith is a walking testament to the fact the 2012 Camry, which was just redesigned with safety as the foremost concern, did exactly what it was made to do at the huge plant in Georgetown, Ky.

“Oh yes, the highway patrolman and the sheriff’s officer both told me if I had been driving my 4-Runner, which I had just traded in, I would have been in bad shape. Thank goodness the other two drivers weren’t badly hurt but all of us are still bruised up. The airbag that saved my legs left my ankle pretty blue.”

Asked if she was getting another Camry, the Henagar, Ala., native laughed and said, “Are you kidding? Only this time I am getting a silver Camry instead of red. I don’t have anything against red but I’d rather not be reminded of what just happened.

“When the Trailblazer hit my car, it kind of bounced off to the side but part of its luggage rack came through the windshield on the passenger side. I was by myself but I don’t think if anybody had been sitting in the seat they would have gotten hurt. The windshield was shattered but there wasn’t any glass inside the car at all.

”How about the airbags?

“When (salesman) Alfred Odister sold me the car, I’m sure he told me about all the safety features – he was great - but, honestly, there was so much to absorb I can’t remember about the air bags. The firemen who were at the wreck told me they counted 14 that went off but some come in sets, I was told,” the personable woman explained.

“I got one of the very first 2012 models so I am waiting for Capital Toyota to get a silver one. When I left the dealership the car had 24 miles on the odometer so I just got to drive it about 30 miles but I really liked it,” she laughed.

“I’m just thankful I was driving it instead of my 4-Runner and that no one was badly hurt."

Ed Emerson, the sales manager at Capital Toyota, said Toyota executives are working to expedite a new replacement Camry for the unfortunate buyer.

“We have been told this new generation Camry is the first to ever earn a five-star safety rating but this proves it. I think we were as shocked as Kim was when we heard what happened. The safety features are really awesome but, please, they don’t need to be tried out!”

Karen, thank you very much for your kind words. It was a pleasure helping you.

"I walked onto the lot with a clear idea of what I wanted, but slightly wary due to a hard sell from another Toyota dealer. What happened at Toyota Sunnyvale was I was met by a pleasant salesman, who asked what I was interested in, immediately took me to exactly what I wanted, offered a price that was exactly in my price range, and I bought the car. This was the friendliest, easiest, best experience I've ever had buying a car. I highly recommend Toyota Sunnyvale."

"I took my Prius for 15k service at 7am. They said it will probably take less than 90 minutes, but it was done in 45.

As for the price, it was pretty steep for an oil change, but I paid a premium for Dealer Service and maintenance of a hybrid vehicle."

"I had an option to go to other dealerships in OR, AZ, NV, Northern CA but I came to this dealership to work with PAUL MALOA. It was a great experience for me. His integrity, knowledge and honesty are a reflection of the person that I wanted for my new car experience.

Right price up front and a pleasure to work with Phil Benvidez in finance too. Both Paul and Phil were the best team for my car purchase.

I would recommend my family and friends to go see Paul for their car purchase too!!

I bought a 2011 Prius and LOVE IT! I have been on a fun road trip and got 50 mpg."

Toyota FJ Cruiser Uniquely Fuses Off-Road Prowess With Heritage Design and Modern

2012_fj_cruiser_photo
The Toyota FJ Cruiser uniquely melds the brand’s off-road performance legacy with distinct heritage design in a modern SUV. Even with its considerable off-road capability, the 2012 Toyota FJ Cruiser offers comfortable everyday usability and Toyota reliability.

The trail-oriented Trail Teams Special Edition Package incorporates a standard Off-Road Package and for 2012 is available in a new color, Radiant Red. With the optional Class Four receiver hitch, the FJ Cruiser can pull a trailer up to 5,000 pounds, enough to take the fun with it, such as a pair of watercraft, a powerboat, dirt bikes or even a racecar.

On pavement or off, the 2012 FJ Cruiser offers fully civilized audio and connectivity features. The standard audio system includes an AM/FM CD player with MP3/WMA playback capability, six speakers, XM Radio (includes 90-day trial subscription), auxiliary audio jack, USB port with iPod® connectivity, plus hands-free phone capability and music streaming via Bluetooth® wireless technology. The steering wheel integrates audio system and Bluetooth controls for added ease of use. A JBL® 10-speaker premium audio system, including sub woofer, is optional (standard on Trail Teams Special Edition).

Trail Teams Special Edition
The 2012 FJ Cruiser Trail Teams Special Edition sports a monotone Radiant Red exterior and projects a tough, slightly menacing look, accentuated by black bumpers, front grille and door handles.

On the roof, new off-road lights with an air dam improve long-range visibility and enhance visual appeal.  On the inside, new red accents on the door trim, steering wheel and fabric seat inserts complement the exterior styling.

The look is backed up by Trail Teams capability. Under-hood, a cyclone pre-air cleaner (standard on all models) is effective at trapping sand and dirt and is easy to clean. The package beefs up chassis performance with trail-tuned Bilstein® shock absorbers; rear differential lock and the active traction control (A-TRAC) system; engine, fuel tank and transfer cases; skid plates; rock rails; plus Toyota Racing Development (TRD) alloy wheels and BFG All-Terrain tires with wheel locks.

The Special Edition also preps the FJ Cruiser’s body and interior for trail driving. The power-side mirrors feature Illumination markers, and the auto-dimming rear-view mirror integrates a backup-camera monitor. The water-resistant seats, rubber-type floor and rear deck make it easy to clean the trail out of the FJ Cruiser Trail Teams Special Edition, while 12V/100W and 115V/400W outlets enable the driver to keep “plugged in” to civilization when necessary.

In addition, the Special Edition comes ready for road and trail with a “floating ball” type multi-information display, remote keyless entry, cruise control, rear privacy glass and rear wiper. The final touch is a Trail Teams exterior badge.

Performance and Efficiency
The FJ Cruiser is powered by DOHC 4.0-liter V6 engine that specifies regular-grade fuel. This powerful, responsive V6 incorporates dual independent Variable Valve Timing with intelligence (VVT-i = variable phasing for both the intake and exhaust cams) and produces 260 horsepower and 271 lb.-ft. of peak torque. The broad torque curve facilitates easy cruising on or off-road. The FJ Cruiser meets the stringent LEV II/Tier 2 Bin 5 emissions certification.

The 2012 FJ Cruiser is available in 4x2 or 4x4 configurations. The 4x4 offers a choice between a six-speed manual transmission and an electronically shifted five-speed automatic transmission; the 4x2 model is equipped exclusively with the five-speed automatic. The automatic transmission varies the shifting pattern based on road conditions and driver input. A Flex Lock-Up feature allows the clutch in the torque converter to maintain a half-engaged position, enhancing fuel efficiency and increasing the lock-up clutch's operational range. The driver can manually shift the automatic transmission using a console-mounted, gate-type shift lever. The gearshift position is also displayed in the instrument panel.

Capability, Handling and Ride
The FJ Cruiser's two-speed transfer case provides a 2.566 low range. With the manual transmission, the transfer case uses a TORSEN® limited-slip center differential with a locking feature and distributes the engine's power 40:60 under most driving conditions. The TORSEN unit varies power distribution as needed, based on steering angle and wheel slippage. In the Lock position, the differential switches to a 50:50 power distribution.

The 4x4 FJ Cruiser with the automatic transmission employs a part-time four-wheel drive system with a 3.727:1 rear differential ratio and provides a 33.76:1 crawl ratio. With the manual transmission, the front and rear differential ratio is a lower 3.909:1 for a crawl ratio of 41.84:1, an attribute that helped the FJ Cruiser traverse California's famed Rubicon Trail.

An electronic locking rear differential is standard with the manual transmission and optional with the automatic transmission. The ring gears in the 4x4 FJ Cruiser's front and rear differentials measure eight inches. The 4x2 model comes standard with a virtual automatic limited-slip differential, provided and operated by an advanced traction-control system to enhance traction of both rear wheels in slippery driving conditions.

Toyota engineered the FJ Cruiser for serious trail driving capability. Its tough, wide stance is based on a boxed steel ladder-braced frame to which the welded steel body is mounted. Skid plates for the engine, transfer case (4x4 models only) and fuel tank are standard. Double-wishbone independent front suspension offers 7.87 inches of wheel travel for outstanding suspension articulation. Its geometry is optimized for excellent road feel and ride comfort.

The solid rear axle uses a four-link coil-spring suspension system with a lateral rod, tubular shock absorbers and a stabilizer bar. This system provides 9.1 inches of wheel travel. The four-wheel disc brake system uses ventilated 12.6-inch front and 12.3-inch rear rotors. The FJ Cruiser employs a variable-ratio, hydraulically assisted rack-and-pinion steering system. Standard wheels are 17-inch steel with P265/70 R17 tires; aluminum-alloy wheels are available.

With the FJ Cruiser's standard 32-inch tires, ground clearance is 9.6 inches (8.7 inches for 4x2 models). Approach and departure angles are 34 degrees/31 degrees for the 4x4 model and 32/30 for the 4x2. Maximum towing capacity with the optional Class Four receiver hitch is 5,000 pounds.

Safety
The FJ Cruiser’s comprehensive standard safety package includes front seat-mounted side airbags, and first- and second-row roll-sensing side curtain airbags. Dual-stage front driver and passenger advanced airbags deploy based on impact type and severity.

Additionally, the FJ Cruiser is equipped with active headrests for the front seats: In certain rear collisions, a cable-actuated mechanism in the active headrest moves the headrest upward and forward to help limit the movement of the occupant's head. The LATCH child-restraint system secures child seats.

As with all Toyota models, the FJ Cruiser is equipped as standard with Toyota's STAR Safety System™ that includes Vehicle Stability Control (VSC),Traction Control (TRAC), an Antilock Brake System (ABS), Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD), Brake Assist (BA) and Smart Stop Technology, Toyota’s brake override system. The roll-sensing side curtain airbags can detect a potential rollover and signal the VSC system to help reduce a lateral skid. In addition, the rollover sensor can signal the standard seat-mounted side airbags and side curtain airbags to deploy.

Exterior Design
With styling cues reminiscent of Toyota's famed FJ40 4x4 utility vehicle, sold in the U.S. from 1960 to 1983, the FJ Cruiser conveys a capable, contemporary spirit. The original FJ40, which during its production life served around the world as the safari and expedition vehicle of choice, is today a sought-after collectable.

Heritage-design features include a front grille with two round, five-inch headlights, reminiscent of the FJ40’s frontal styling; the hood and fender contours; and a rear-mounted and exposed full-size spare tire with an off-center license plate mount.

The FJ Cruiser’s side access doors open 90 degrees in clamshell fashion for easy rear-seat ingress and egress. Additionally, a swing-up glass hatch is incorporated into the side-hinged rear door. The glass hatch opens independently of the rear door and helps accommodate longer items. The angular wheel arches open to provide maximum clearance for the FJ Cruiser's large 32-inch tires at full suspension deflection. The arches are edged by flexible fender flares that resist damage during trail driving and also from opening doors of adjacent parked vehicles. Three wiper arms provide nearly complete coverage of the wide windshield.

Interior Designed for Rugged Wear – and Comfort
The FJ Cruiser's interior combines a heritage-inspired design with the comfort and convenience of a modern Toyota SUV.  The dash is bordered by upper and lower tubular forms, which frame rectangular-shaped flat panels. Large control knobs provide easy grip, even when wearing gloves.

The standard full gauge package – including speedometer, tachometer, amp meter, temperature gauge and fuel gauge – uses round, black-white dials for enhanced visibility. Switches for major functions, including climate and audio controls, and the optional locking rear differential, are mounted in the center dash panel within easy reach for the driver.

The driver’s seat is eight-way adjustable, while the front passenger seat offers four-way adjustment. Seating materials are not only water-repellant, but also provide excellent ventilation. The seating fabric is backed by a special breathable resin coating, which helps it to shed liquids and make cleanup easier. Even the stitched seams of the seat covers are treated with sealant to prevent liquids from penetrating. The FJ Cruiser's floor surfaces are covered with an easy-to-clean rubber-like material.

The rear seatback is split 60/40, with folding (removable) bottom and back cushions that convert to a nearly flat cargo floor. The rear cargo area is equipped with cargo-net hooks, multipurpose grocery-bag hooks and sturdy, floor-mounted cargo tie-down anchor points. A 115-volt accessory power outlet is available.

Comfort and Convenience
The FJ Cruiser’s long list of standard features includes: air conditioning; power windows and door locks; water-resistant seats; tilt steering wheel; four cup holders and two bottle holders; rear-window defogger; rear-door-mounted full-size spare tire; front- and rear-tow hooks, and mudguards.

An available Convenience Package includes keyless entry; cruise control; power side-view mirrors with illumination markers; daytime running lights; rear privacy glass; rear window wiper and a spare tire cover. This package also includes a rear backup camera integrated with an auto-dimming rear-view mirror.

The FJ Cruiser can further be upgraded with comfort amenities without compromising its rugged capability. Available features include a floating ball type multi-information display (compass, inclinometer and temperature gauge); JBL Premium Audio system; an 115V AC power outlet; 17-inch alloy wheels; leather-wrapped steering wheel with integral audio controls and cruise-control function; metal-colored shift lever; and interior door-trim inserts keyed to the vehicle's exterior color.

Toyota dealers offer a catalog of available accessories, including auxiliary driving lights, rock rails, roof rack, brush guard, taillight guards, sport exhaust system, receiver hitch and harness, wind deflector with off-road lights, a cargo mat and all-weather or carpeted floor mats.

Kudos to our staff for its dedication to excellent customer service

"Came here to rent a mini van since the folks were coming into town and driving two cars with the kiddies is just a big pain. The service was quick with pick-up and drop-off...more convenient than the usual places to rent a car. The mini van was clean, new and served its purpose. I wanted a Sequoia, but settled for the mini van...no Sequoias to rent."

Stan, thank you for this wonderful review

"I was shopping for a new car that was reliable, had good gas mileage and was available for a good price. So obviously I wanted a Toyota. However I had bad luck at a few dealerships with one not budging on the sticker price while the other having poor customer service. A friend of a friend recommended Sunnyvale Toyota and the service was better that what I was told.

I was planing to buy my car for $22,000 but the dealer's asking price was $18,000. The sales rep (Mike) gave me all the important info and was very jolly. I also got an excellent care package and warranty. I now have a good car for a good price with a reliable warranty.

Thank you Sunnyvale Toyota."

Toyota Offering HD Radio in 2012 Camry

2012_toyota_camry_radio_photo

Toyota said it will offer HD Radio technology with iTunes Tagging in the 2012 Camry model. The new vehicle will arrive at dealerships in October.

HD Radio is included as a factory-installed audio option on two models, the XLE and SE V6. It’s included as part of a multimedia system that includes navigation and Toyota’s new Entune Multimedia System. Camry will be one of the first Toyotas to offer Entune, which includes iheartradio, Pandora and Sirius XM.

The Entune system includes a 6.1-in. touchscreen, AM/FM CD player with MP3/WMA playback capability, six speakers, auxiliary audio jack, USB port with iPod connectivity and control, vehicle information, hands-free phone capability, phonebook access, advanced voice recognition, text-to-speech, and music streaming via Bluetooth wireless technology. A 90-day trial subscription to the “XM Select Package” is included.

Toyota says the Entune system uses the smartphone to provide a better in-vehicle experience with access to navigation, entertainment and information services. After downloading a mobile app and using a Bluetooth-capable phone with a Toyota vehicle, the user can access navigation, entertainment and navigation services, plus personalized content.

Featured apps on Toyota Entune include Bing, iheartradio, MovieTickets.com, OpenTable.com and Pandora, as well as location-based services (personalized traffic, fuel prices, stocks, weather and sports). Toyota Entune also includes support for read-back and replay capabilities for text messages.

The Entune option offers a split-screen feature that allows for simultaneous display of navigation and audio information.

Toyota is offering six model grades of the 2012 Camry and Camry Hybrid.
