Toyota_logo_photo

Toyota Motor Sales (TMS), USA, Inc., announced manufacturer’s suggested retail prices (MSRP) today for the 2012 Corolla and Matrix compact sedans, Tundra Regular Cab full-size pickup truck and the Venza crossover. TMS also announced increases today for select 2012 Toyota and Lexus models. Price increases for 2012 Toyota models include the FJ Cruiser SUV, Highlander and Highlander Hybrid SUVs, and Tundra Double Cab and CrewMax models. Price increases for 2012 Lexus models include LS 460 and LS 600h L models and CT 200h.

The Venza crossover is manufactured at Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Kentucky, Inc., in Georgetown, Ky.

2012 Toyota Venza
The Toyota Venza, which melds sport-sedan design with crossover versatility, debuts a new three-model grade strategy for 2012. Previously, the Venza had been available without grades, instead offering multiple option packages.

The 2012 Venza is available in LE, XLE and Limited grades, a model line change that aligns the Venza with other Toyota passenger vehicles, making it more convenient for customers. The LE and XLE models are available with all powertrain combinations: four-cylinder, V6, front-wheel drive (FWD) or all-wheel drive (AWD); the Venza Limited comes with the V6 engine only, in front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive configurations.

The LE comes well equipped with standard dual-zone automatic climate control with air filter and second row seat vents; eight-way power-adjustable driver’s seat; 3.5- inch multi-information display; a tilt/telescopic adjustable steering wheel with integrated audio controls; an overhead console with map lights; rear-seat adjustable personal reading lamps and three 12-volt power outlets.

The LE grade’s standard audio system includes an AM/FM six-disc, in-dash CD changer with integrated satellite radio, Bluetooth® hands-free phone capability with wireless music streaming via Bluetooth® , MP3/WMA playback capability, USB port with iPod connectivity, auxiliary audio jack, auto sound leveling, and six speakers.

The Venza XLE provides a major luxury and convenience upgrade to the vehicle and includes such features as leather seating surfaces, steering wheel and shift knob; four-way power passenger seat; multi-stage heated front seats; satin mahogany wood- grain-style interior trim; anti-theft system with alarm and engine immobilizer; Smart Key System with pushbutton start and illuminated entry; power rear liftgate and a back-up camera. Also standard on the XLE is a multi-information display that can be customized to adjust the font size and content, and navigation voice instructions available in Spanish, French or English (XM Traffic is only available in English).

The new V6-only, top-of-line Venza Limited adds a JBL Navigation system, panoramic glass roof with front power moonroof, and high-intensity discharge (HID) headlights with automatic high beams. The high beam feature detects oncoming vehicles and automatically switches the headlamps from high- to low-beam.

Venza LE models will range in price from $27,425 for the four-cylinder front- wheel-drive to $29,775 for the V6 all-wheel-drive, an increase of $240 on a comparably- equipped basis, or 0.8 percent.

The 2012 Venza XLE reflects an excellent value as MSRP’s range from $29,775 for the four-cylinder front-wheel-drive to $33,050 for the V6 all-wheel-drive, a decrease in price of $880 on a comparably-equipped basis, or 2.6 to 2.9 percent.
The Venza Limited also represents a great value as the base MSRP is $36,465 for the V6 front-wheel-drive and $37,915 for the V6 all-wheel-drive, a price decrease of $460 on a comparably-equipped basis, or 1.2 percent.

Richard, thank you so much for sharing your experience with us

"I can't complain. I bought my first car here (new 2008 Prius) and came back 4 years later to trade it in for a new 2012 Prius v. My sale associate, Larry Leibowitz, was friendly, fair and accommodating -- he worked with me on some logistics (caused by me being out of town). As for a car salesman, he was not overly pushy. The price was good to average (compared to what I could find locally and on the internet), especially considering the rarity/demand of my particular model/package. The new car sales was overall relatively efficient and painless!

On a side note, I've also taken my old Prius here religiously for service ever since I bought it. While I won't say they are particularly friendly/unfriendly, they've always got the work done promptly at a good to average price. I've never been surprised by unwanted charges. Having put over 85,000 miles on that car in 4 years, the car ran as smooth as the day I bought it -- I think that says much about the quality of service."

"Sales dept review: I bought a used ('08, 48k miles) non-Toyota vehicle here and eventually returned it due to what I perceived as a beginning transmission problem. The review is not for the vehicle, but the service I received:

Communication via phone and e-mail to schedule appointments was friendly and timely.
An assistant took me to test-drive not only "my vehicle," but several vehicles of similar model so I could compare them to the one I wanted. I had my friend who owns same vehicle test-drive the car as well.
They provided me with any and all details about the car that I felt they knew, including a certified (non-Toyota) dealer inspection report.
When I decided to return the car, they cut me a check within a few days.
A pleasant experience as far as dealerships go. One star off for letting me wait there and then and for not being able to work on the price much.

Bottom line - you still need to know about cars in order to pick the right one, but these people are quite helpful in getting you access to the information you need."

Toyota Sunnyvale is dedicated to providing the best in customer service

We would like to thank our happy customer for this great review

"I had a wonderful experience at Toyota Sunnyvale.

I did my research and used Costco pricing when I purchased my Prius II. My sales associate, Brad E., exceeded the deal I was offered at another dealership, plus he was very pleasant to work with and never pressured me.

when I took delivery on the car I got full instructions from Brad on its many features, never feeling rushed or hurried. Likewise, both Brad and Reisa stayed beyond closing to help me complete paperwork. I don't know that I could have been as patient as they were, had the situation been reversed.

I would not hesitate to recommend Toyota Sunnyvale to anyone looking for a new Toyota.

I have to say, the 2011 Prius II I purchased from this dealership is a great car and rides like a dream."

James, thanks so much for this great review. We truly appreciate your five-star rating

"I was in the market for a brand new Toyota Prius for quite a while now. I browse through the web looking at the best deal on Priuses when I stumbled upon Toyota Sunnyvale. Reisa at direct sales changed the way I think about car buying! I requested a quote on a 2011 Toyota Prius II online and Immediately got a call from her with a quote and scheduled me an appointment the next day. Needlessly to say, I put in a brand new Prius the next day.

From start to finish I only had to deal with Reisa, from test driving the car to signing paperwork. It was so fast and painless that I was out of the dealership within 3 hours. No haggling, no hassles!

As for the dealership; It was small, but it is well stocked on Toyota Priuses. I was told that this dealership is the #1 in the bay area when it comes to selling Toyota Priuses and would get priority from Toyota in receiving more Priuses from them. This particular dealership also has a separate lot for just Toyota Priuses, and had over 130 Priuses for me to choose from!"

Toyota Corolla Adds New Audio and Amenities for 2012

H8e4806
The Toyota Corolla, which received refreshed styling and numerous enhancements for 2011, enters the 2012 model year with upgrades to the feature content for the base L model and a new standard audio system for the LE and S grade models.

A standard bearer for value, quality and dependability for more than 40 years, the Toyota Corolla delivers even more value for 2012. The Corolla L grade model gains color-keyed power side mirrors, along with power windows with driver’s auto-down, power door locks and remote keyless entry. The LE grade adds standard 16-inch wheels and steering wheel audio controls for 2012. The sporty S model adds a double-stitch accent to its seats.

In response to customers’ demand for more versatile audio performance, the 2012 Toyota LE and S grades offer a new standard audio system. The head unit combines an AM/FM/CD player (including MP3/WMA playback) A USB port enables iPod® connectivity, while an auxiliary input jack accommodates other music players. The system also features Bluetooth® hands-free phone capability and audio streaming. Auto-sound leveling adjusts volume in response to ambient noise. Both the LE and S grades feature steering wheel audio control switches, as well.

The 2012 Corolla continues to offer standard Toyota’s Star Safety System™, which includes Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), Traction Control (TRAC), Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) and Brake Assist. It also features the standard Smart Stop Technology brake-override system. The 2012 Corolla continues to offer the two-year/25,000-mile Toyota Care complimentary maintenance plan.

Performance and Efficiency
The 2012 Corolla is available in three grades: the base-model Corolla L, the LE, and sporty S grade. All models are equipped with the 1.8-liter DOHC four-cylinder engine, which produces 132 hp at 6,000 rpm and 128 lb-ft of torque at 4,400 rpm. Dual Variable Valve Timing with intelligence (VVT-i) controls valve timing on both the intake and exhaust camshafts to help optimize performance and fuel economy.

The 1.8-liter engine is paired with a five-speed manual transmission or a four-speed automatic Electronically Controlled Transmission (ECT) on the base Corolla L and the sporty S grades; the LE model features the automatic standard. The four-speed automatic uses a torque converter with flex lockup for increased fuel efficiency, as well as uphill/downhill shift control. For a more engaging driving experience, the driver can shift the automatic manually by moving the shift lever to the left from its “D” position into the “S” position, then pushing forward for upshifts and back for downshifts. An indicator inside the combination gauge shows the gear selected.

The 2012 Corolla has earned an EPA-estimated fuel economy rating of 27 mpg city and 34 mpg highway with the five-speed manual transmission, and 26 mpg city and 34 mpg highway with the four-speed automatic transmission.

Handling and Ride
The smooth-riding Corolla is built around a stiff body structure that relies on high tensile-strength steel, gussets and cross members for its strength, rigidity and lightweight construction. Front suspension is composed of a compact, rigid L-arm-type MacPherson strut with a stabilizer bar. The Corolla’s torsion beam rear suspension employs a coil-over-shock arrangement that allows efficient packaging along with solid handling and excellent ride comfort.

An electric power-assist steering system uses a compact motor, speed reducer and torque sensor built into the steering column. The system varies the amount of assistance according to engine RPM and vehicle speed. The result is appropriate weight and responsiveness at higher speeds, and light effort at low speeds. Electric power steering reduces parasitic losses to the engine, thereby aiding fuel economy. It is also environmentally efficient, because it does not require hydraulic oil.

Safety
The Corolla is engineered to absorb and disperse impact energy throughout the entire body structure, including front and rear crumple zones. Strengthened door beltline reinforcements help share the impact load, which in side impacts is also directed to the underbody. A direct tire pressure monitor system comes standard on every Corolla.

As part of the Toyota STAR Safety System™, Vehicle Stability Control automatically adjusts engine output and the vehicle’s braking force at individual wheels to help control any discrepancy between where the driver is steering and where the vehicle is heading.

All Corolla models are equipped with six standard airbags, including advanced front airbags, front seat-mounted side airbags, and front-and-rear side-curtain airbags. Seatbelt pretensioners retract the seat belt at the time of a frontal collision, and the dual-stage force limiter helps limit the seat belt force applied to the passenger’s chest. Front seats integrate active headrests; if the vehicle is struck from the rear with sufficient force, a cable-actuated mechanism in the active front headrest moves the headrest upward and forward to help limit the movement of the occupant's head.

Comfort and Convenience
The 2012 Corolla upholds a 40-plus year heritage for providing outstanding value in standard equipment. All models feature a standard all-weather package. The Corolla L grade features 15-inch steel wheels with full wheel covers; P195/65 R15 tires; a color-keyed front grille and exterior door handles; a heavy-duty rear window defogger with timer; AM/FM/CD audio with four speakers with MP3/WMA playback capability, auxiliary audio jack, and auto sound leveling; air conditioning with pollen filter; intermittent windshield wipers; daytime running lights; tilt and telescopic steering wheel; multi-information display with outside temperature, instant fuel economy, average fuel economy, average speed and travel distance; fabric-trimmed six-way adjustable drivers seat; four-way adjustable front passenger seat; 60/40 split folding rear seats and a 12-volt auxiliary power outlet. For 2012, power windows, door locks, remote keyless entry system, and color-keyed side view mirrors are also added to the roster.

In addition to the new audio system and 16-inch wheels described described earlier, the popular Corolla LE grade adds variable intermittent windshield wipers with mist cycle; color-keyed power heated outside mirrors; cruise control; multi-function in-key remote keyless entry system with lock, unlock, trunk release, panic and remote illuminated entry and a sport steering wheel with metallic accents.

The sporty Corolla S grade projects a street-smart look with 16-inch alloy wheels and 205/55 R16 tires; multi-reflector halogen headlamps with black housing; color-keyed front and rear underbody spoilers, sport side rocker panels, unique S badge and rear mudguards; color-keyed rear spoiler and integrated fog lamps. The interior, too, gets an exclusive upgrade with front sport seats, chrome-tipped exhaust, metallic style interior trim and analog sport instrumentation.

Options
The Corolla LE offers a Premium Package that includes 16-inch, five-spoke alloy wheels with P205/55R16 tires; integrated fog lamps and a power tilt/slide moonroof with sliding sunshade. The Corolla S also offers the power tilt/slide moonroof. Both grades also offer Display Audio with Navigation and Entune™ multi-media system which includes a 6.1-in. touch screen, AM/FM CD player with MP3/WMA playback capability, six speakers, SiriusXM™ Satellite Radio capability that includes 90-day trial subscription, HD Radio™ with iTunes® Tagging, auxiliary audio jack, USB port with iPod® connectivity and control, vehicle information, hands-free phone capability, phonebook access, advanced voice recognition, text to voice, and music streaming via Bluetooth® wireless technology (see toyota.com/entune for availability of apps and data services)

Exterior Design
The Corolla’s design, created with input from styling studios in Turin, Italy, strikes a sporty profile. Built on a 102.4-inch wheelbase, the Corolla provides room for five, with a 12.3 cu. ft. trunk.

Character lines sweep from the hood toward the A-pillars and carry back from the top edge of the front bumper into the subtle yet muscular front-fender flares. Additional lines carry rearward at the level of the door handles, emphasizing the Corolla’s low profile, and sweep down from the C-pillar and along the top edges of the rear fenders.

Just above the dense mesh grille that helps form the now familiar Toyota T-face, an interlayer of anti-chipping coating is used to help minimize paint damage from stone chips. The standard body kit on S the model adds a sporty look while also enhancing aerodynamics. The kit includes a front spoiler, rocker moldings, and upper and lower rear spoilers. Engine under-covers improve air management on all models.

The current-generation Corolla benefitted from a focus on reducing wind noise. The A-pillar is specially profiled for this purpose. The windshield is made from acoustic glass and the window-frame structure is designed to reduce vibration of side glass. The windshield molding, wiper blade covers and shape of the cowl air intake louvers are all designed to minimize noise. Windshield washer nozzles are partially shielded by the rear edge of the hood, instead of sitting atop the hood or cowling. Inside, the carpeting is designed to better absorb noise.

Interior Design
The Corolla’s driving position and front seats are tailored to a wider range of driver heights. A standard tilt and telescope steering wheel in all models makes it easy for taller drivers to find a comfortable position. A multi-information display presents a variety of information, including outside temperature, instant fuel economy, average fuel economy, average speed and travel distance.

The Corolla’s rear bench seat offers space and comfort for three adults. Careful attention to exhaust system routing provides a nearly flat rear floor, enhancing comfort for the middle passenger. Three interior color schemes are available: Ash, Dark Charcoal and Bisque. The Bisque is paired with Ash Brown trim.

Easy-to-reach storage spaces provide convenience and usability inside the Corolla. These include center console side pockets; a storage box above the usual glove box; front and rear door pockets that can safely hold 20-ounce bottles; a console box with a large-capacity main tray and a smaller accessory tray; an overhead console useful for storage of sunglasses or garage-door openers; and front and rear-door storage pockets with sculpted bottle holders.

Limited Warranty
Toyota’s 36-month/36,000 mile basic new-vehicle warranty applies to all components other than normal wear and maintenance items. Additional 60-month warranties cover the powertrain for 60,000 miles and corrosion with no mileage limitation.

Toyota Prius Plug-in earns 2012 Urban Green Vehicle Award

2012-toyota-prius-plug-in-1
The 2012 Toyota Prius Plug-in, which will go on sale in Spring of 2012, earned Decisive magazine’s annual Urban Green Vehicle of the Year Award today. The three Urban Vehicles of the Year award winners and finalists were announced after being selected by an independent panel of automotive journalists, who reviewed several dozen cars and trucks in various North American urban settings. Decisive magazine’s Urban Vehicles of the Year, which were selected on the basis of style, practicality and attainability, will be featured in the magazine’s winter issue and on mobile applications.

“We are pleased with the recognition of the 2012 Toyota Prius Plug-in as a well-designed, smart and attainable vehicle, especially in an urban environment,” said Jim Colon, vice president of Toyota product communications at Toyota Motor Sales, USA, Inc. “We’re confident that the Prius Plug-in’s extended electric range, selectable EV mode, expected 87 MPGe and quick home charging are among the features that helped Toyota secure this distinction.”

Toyota Prius Plug-in will be among the winners and finalists to be honored at the 16th Annual Urban Wheel Awards, hosted by the Emerging Diversity Education Fun (EDEF) and Decisive Media, on Sunday, January 8, 2012, in Detroit.

“This is the Prius everyone has been waiting for,” said Lyndon Conrad Bell, editor-in-chief of Decisive magazine. “Endowing the world’s favorite hybrid with the ability to run purely on electric power for significant distances and recharge itself from an AC outlet remade and exceptional urban green car into the ideal urban green car.”

Joining the popular third-generation Prius Liftback and the new Prius v, the new Prius Plug-in combines the benefits of the standard Prius model’s hybrid vehicle operation with extended electric vehicle (EV) driving and more affordable pricing than pure electric or range-extender type vehicles. The 2012 Prius Plug-in Hybrid, which offers seating for five, is expected to achieve a manufacturer-estimated 87 MPGe (miles per gallon equivalent) in combined driving and 49 MPG in hybrid mode.

Toyota has sold more than one million Prius models in the United States since the first-generation model was introduced for model-year 2001. The recent introduction of the larger Prius v and now the Prius Plug-in Hybrid brings this eco-focused model range to four distinct vehicles, including the Prius c, which will debut in 2012.

Holly, thank you for this wonderful review

"Okay, none of us like buying a car because it involves talking to car salesmen. But I have to say I had a great experience at Sunnyvale Toyota! I went in over the weekend to check out the used car selection and took a test drive in a few cars. Not finding the car for me, I took the salesman's business card and left. The salesman, Ken Costa, e-mailed me daily with the new additions to the used car inventory and a few nights later, I went in and found my new car! Once I found the car, everyone made the purchasing process so easy. I got a great trade-in amount on my old car, a killer interest rate, and drove away in just a few hours. A truly painless car buying experience!"
