Thanks to all for these SIX great positive reviews on Google+ Local!

"Sunnyvale Toyota is where we go for all of our automobile purchases. We've purchased three vehicles from there and are very satisfied with the prices and service."

"I am very happy with the service that I got from Toyota Sunnyvale when I bought my used truck! The truck was in very good state and I paid a fair price for it. They helped me with financing and they helped me get an excellent interest and insurance (even though I don't have a credit history due to the fact that I am not a US citizen). Also, after I bought it I found out the truck wasn't aligned and they offered to align it at their garage. However I live quite far and I didn't feel like drive back a couple times to bring it and pick it up. Instead they let me use a garage closer to home and I could reimburse the cost of the other garage with them!"

"Bought a new Prius recently, experience was great, just 2 visits because I wanted to sleep on it and all done. Dinner was held at the dealership with a bunch of recent new car owners, very nice! A first for me. Great info discussed too. Been over to Service a couple times for minor issues, questions; everyone was helpful and caring."

"No real hassle's. They seemed to treat me fairly, and the service dept. is really good and efficient."

"Great, friendly service. I brought my car in w/out an appointment and they took it right away. Plus, it came back washed."

"Excellent team .. had a wonderful experience buying the Sienna."

Prius C Eligible for College Graduates Rebate Program

Published August 27, 2012
By Philippe Crowe

12-priusc_grads
"Toyota Financial Services (TFS), in partnership with Toyota Motor Sales, announced last week that the new Prius C is its first hybrid vehicle able to take advantage of the company’s College Grad Rebate Program.

In the financial institution’s words, TFS for recent grad hopes to make the transition from college to workforce easier and more affordable by offering a $1,000 rebate to qualified college graduates toward the purchase of any new Scion models and select new Toyota vehicles, including the Camry (excluding Camry hybrid), Corolla, Matrix, RAV4, Tacoma, Yaris, and now, the Prius c.

The letter “c” in the Prius c moniker represents “city” and it was indeed designed specifically with city-dwelling millennials in mind. It functions as an urban-friendly vehicle with an engaging driving experience, accessible price, a city fuel economy rating of 53 mpg and available convenient and advanced in-car electronics features.

TFS considers the Prius C the ideal vehicle for the recent college graduate in the market for a fuel-efficient and tech-savvy solution to their transportation needs.

Qualified college graduates receiving the $1,000 rebate are also eligible for the College Graduate Finance Program (applicable for all new Toyota/Scion models) which offers a highly competitive APR/lease and special incentives such as:

• No money down when financing and no monthly payments for the first 90 days on select finance programs on all new untitled Toyota vehicles

• Competitive APRs on all new untitled Toyota vehicles and Toyota Certified Used Vehicles • Waived security deposit on lease

• Toyota Care: a 2-year/25,000-mile, whichever comes first, complimentary worry-free maintenance plan with roadside assistance

The College Rebate Program for Toyota vehicles ends January 2, 2013 and is available to qualified customers who graduated within the last two years, or are about to graduate within the next six months."

Toyota Develops Affordable Yaris R1A Rally Car

Tmg-yaris-r1a-1
"Toyota's Motorsport division will return to rallying with its new and affordable Yaris R1A that will make its first public appearance in the ninth round of the WRC at the ADAC Rallye Deutschland from August 24 to 26.

The TMG (Toyota Motorsports GmbH) Yaris R1A will participate as a "Zero Car", which means that it will run as a course vehicle to confirm road conditions and announce the start of each stage.

The new entry-level Yaris R1A rally car has been developed to comply with FIA R1A regulations that permit only limited performance modifications to production vehicles with engines up to 1.4-liters in displacement.

The upgrade kit from Toyota includes racing exhaust and catalytic converter system, shorter final drive gear, motorsport suspension with adapted springs and adjustable ride height.

Naturally, the Yaris also gains a comprehensive suite of safety features including a bolt-in roll cage, guards for sump, fuel tank and fuel lines, fire extinguishers, rally seats and safety harness plus power cut-off switch.

The Japanese automaker said that it expects the Yaris R1A is to become the first car in the world to be awarded FIA R1A homologation before the end of the year. The homologation will allow drivers of the car to compete regional, national and international competitions all the way up to World Rally Championship events.

Yoshiaki Kinoshita, TMG President commented: "It is a great thrill for TMG to return to rallying, a discipline in which we enjoyed a great deal of success in the past. The TMG Yaris R1A is a completely different project compared to our WRC past; it is an affordable but exciting car which makes rallying‟s major events accessible to a whole range of participants. We have already received numerous inquiries about this car so we know there is a huge appetite in the rally world for a new TOYOTA; I hope this is the start of a new rally dynasty at TMG."

TMG said it is taking orders for the Yaris R1A now, with donor car and upgrade kit (excluding tax and installation) priced at approximately €22,500 or GBP 17,700."

Toyota and Hiring Our Heroes Program to Assist Veterans in Job Searches

Toyota_logo
Toyota Motor Sales U.S.A., Inc. announced a partnership with Medal of Honor recipient Sgt. Dakota Meyer and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s National Chamber Foundation as part of an ongoing initiative to support returning troops and veterans making the transition from military to civilian jobs.   Sgt. Meyer, the first living Marine in three decades to receive the Medal of Honor, will be appearing at various Hiring Our Heroes job fairs around the country to meet with veterans and help them understand the importance of personal branding and how to translate military skills to future employers.

Toyota, Hiring Our Heroes and Sgt. Meyer recognized an existing void in the veteran job market and the need for skill translation tools to bridge the gap between military credentials and civilian job descriptions.    Working in unison to develop personal branding collateral, today will mark the beginning of distribution of those materials at 400 job fairs around the country.

Speaking at a job fair for veterans at Quantico Marine Base, Don Esmond, Senior Advisor, Toyota Motor Sales, Inc. and former Marine, said “The U.S. is currently facing an unemployment rate for post 9-11 veterans of more than 12%, which has the potential to increase as troops return home from overseas. We believe the Personal Branding Initiative is an important step forward in addressing this challenge because it helps veterans translate their military experience into marketable skills. Toyota is honored to be partnering with Sgt. Dakota Meyer and Hiring Our Heroes and we pledge our full support to the program.”

As a former Marine sniper, Sgt. Meyer has first-hand knowledge and experience of the challenges facing military veterans as they try to acclimate and integrate into civilian life after their turn of duty.   Working closely with Toyota and Hiring Our Heroes, he will be offering his unique insights to the tools being developed, as well as speaking about the importance of personal branding.   Sgt. Meyer will be appearing at numerous job fairs around the country to help spread awareness to the U.S. veteran community.

“I was a sniper in the U.S. Marine Corps, so I understand firsthand how hard translating a military skill to a civilian skill can be.  Toyota understands the gap that exists when veterans apply to jobs and face specific challenges in matching future employers job descriptions,” said Sgt. Dakota Meyer. “Our country has been served by the people that make up the best employees – where qualities like loyalty, commitment and hard work are not only required, but honored. Since my return from service, I’ve been very passionate about doing what I can to help veterans. I believe this partnership with Toyota and the Hiring Our Heroes will take those efforts to the next level. I’m excited to be involved and look forward to spreading the word to veterans across the country.”

Toyota’s partnership with Hiring Our Heroes will include prominent displays at job fairs around the country, as well as the ongoing development and promotion of personal branding materials that have been collaboratively developed.   Toyota will also have a seat on the Veterans Employment Advisory Council (VEAC) in the Chairman’s Circle, the highest level that a brand can participate with the U.S. Chamber.

This Customer Values Low Prices and Customer Service as Most Important, and for That Reason He Chose Toyota Sunnyvale

Logo

"The price is almost the cheapest I got. Best of all, the sales people are really willing to help and assist you.

I am glad I bought my car from them, because let's be honest, service is more important than anything, and they serve the customer well. It is comfortable talking to them and they show no tricks but rather respect for me.

It was really a good buying experience!"

Another Great Experience Recorded on Yelp!

"This is for the Sales Associate part. I went to purchase a car the day after my previous car had decided to no longer work. When I came to Toyota Sunnyvale, everyone was exceptionally nice and welcoming. My Salesperson was Ratha Ke and she did a fabulous job in finding the best car that suited me and my budget. Great customer service, too! Bert, the financial manager was also a great person to work with regarding getting my car. After all of the paperwork and signing, I finally got my car!! I thought it would be hard for a first time car purchaser, but it wasn't. Great experience and they're willing to work with you!"

An Updated 5-Star Review of Our Service Center and Two More Positive Reviews on Yelp!

Yelp-logo
"I sent my van for oil & filter change this Sat 8/4.

I had quite a few concerns and Paul Matsui addressed them promptly and satisfactorily.

I look forward to this kind of attentive services in the future."

"Good selection, fair prices. I found the perfect Silver 2003 Beetle.   :)   "

"I took my new Prius here for its first service at 5k miles. I was very happy they had a weekend appointment option. The woman who helped me was very nice and helpful, and she made sure my car got a needed recall fix while it was there. The only reason I don't give them 5 stars is that I was told the service would take several hours (even before the recall fix was added to the service). Since the only other thing that was needed was a tire rotation, this delay was a lot more than I was anticipating, and it would have been good if they told me about the time issue when I made the appointment. (I ended up calling my wife to pick me up.)"

Scion and Subaru join forces in developing FR-S and BRZ

ARV VOSS Updated 01:00 p.m., Friday, July 27, 2012

Fr-s
"What happens when two Japanese auto manufacturers join forces to develop a formidable, yet affordable sports coupe? Under the guise of two distinctive marques, you come up with a capable, yet affordable, sports coupe that is extremely fun to drive.

The vehicles in question are the Scion FR-S and the Subaru BRZ, which are nearly identical in terms of design and mechanical composition. The two cars differ only in the front and rear fascia treatment, headlamp styling and, of course, badging.

We'll deal with the 2013 Scion FR-S here - the fifth model to join the Scion family, with power delivered to the rear-wheels through either a six-speed manual gearbox or a six-speed electronically controlled automatic transmission with Sport mode, paddle shifters and Dynamic Rev Management. The engine is an FA2O 2.0-liter, DOHC, 16-valve, flat horizontally-opposed "boxer" four-cylinder with D4-S (Direct and Sequential Port Injection) that cranks out 200 hp at 7,000 rpm, while developing 151 lb ft of torque in a range from 6,400-6,600 rpm. Premium fuel is required.

Pricing for the FR-S (which stands for Front-engine, Rear-wheel drive, Sport) will begin at $24,200 when equipped with the six-speed manual gearbox, $25,300 when fitted with the six-speed automatic transmission.

The FR-S was designed around the core goal of achieving "pure balance," beginning with the strategic employment of the world's only flat boxer engine in a front-engine, rear-wheel drive configuration.

Despite its powerful 100 hp per liter, the FR-S yields an estimated EPA rating of 34 mpg on the highway with the automatic transmission and 30 mpg with the manual gearbox. The FR-S tips the scale at 2,758 lbs with the manual and 2,806 with the automatic. Weight is kept to a minimum by the implementation of an aluminum hood, a solid roof and a trunk, rather than a hatch.

Experienced performance driving enthusiasts will appreciate the vehicle stability control and traction control systems, which may be set in a combination of five configurations.

A low, sleek roofline directs airflow cleanly and efficiently over the gracefully curved cabin. The stance is low, and the face delivers a menacing competitive look with its sharp, expressive lines and forms.

The interior features 2+2 seating with deeply bolstered, supportive and comfortable seats up front, with a rear seatback that folds flat for added versatility and functionality. A large, center-mounted tachometer is the focal point of the three-gauge main cluster that also features a programmable shift indicator, allowing the driver to set rev limits in 100-rpm units, beginning at 2,000 rpm.

FR-S is equipped with a host of standard safety features, including: six airbags, Traction Control, Electronic Brake-force Distribution, Vehicle Stability control, Brake Assist, ABS and Smart Stop Technology.

My test pre-production 2013 Scion FR-S sport coupe's base sticker read $23,405 and reached $24,135 after adding the destination and handling fees.

SUMMARY: Considering the starting price of the 2013 Scion FR-S sports coupe, and its performance credentials, it serves up a most attractive and appealing design, with harmonious and well-balanced lines and contours. It evokes a bold, athletic image, even when parked.

Acceleration is impressive, as are the precise handling characteristics. The ride quality is comfortable, but not without meaningful feedback.

To put this latest model Scion through its paces, journalists from across the country were afforded the opportunity to pilot the FR-S over both a challenging road course and timed autocross venue at the private Springhill Motorsports Park race facility located in Pahrump, Nev., just over 70 miles outside Las Vegas.

With a starting price under $25,000, the all-new FR-S delivers fun in spades under normal driving conditions or on a racecourse. Add in Scion's three-year/36,000-mile limited warranty and five-year/60,000-mile powertrain warranty, along with Scion's complimentary Scion Service Boost program, and the choice of a FR-S is a no-brainer for the 2+2 sports coupe set.

Base Price: $23,405

Price as Tested: $24,135

Engine/ Transmission: 2.0-liter DOHC, 16-valve naturally aspirated 200 horsepower four-cylinder flat-opposed "Boxer" engine with dual variable valve timing and D-4S direct port fuel injection / Six-speed manual or six-speed automatic with paddle shifters

Wheelbase: 101.2 inches

Length: 166.7 inches

Width: 69.9 inches

Height: 50.6 inches

Curb Weight: 2,758 pounds

Fuel Capacity: 13.2 gallons

Fuel Consumption: 22 mpg city / 30 mpg highway"
